Stepford Wives Luncheon

February 18, 2008 · WCC Administr@tr · 4 Comments

For lunch today, some girlfriends came over to watch the 2004 movie, Stepford Wives. We all read the book by Ira Levine in advance so it was a great way for us to compare both the book & movie. Although my initial plan was to serve a Stepford Wive inspired lunch with 1950’s fare, I ended up serving the following instead:

Brie, Sausage, Fruit & Cracker Platterpicture032-7294070
Baby Carrots w/ Dill & Garlic Dippicture033-6498430Southwest Chicken Chili (not pictured)

Everything looks wonderful, as usual. If only I lived in Chicago 😉

Fabulous idea and food. But, do you mind me asking why, if you’ve all read the book, you didn’t watch the original film? Did people actually enjoy the 2004 remake?

Anonymous – we watched the 2004 remake and after popping in the original film soon after, we regretted not watching that first. The 2004 remake was entertaining but completely different. We did enjoy comparing the 2004 movie with the book despite all the differences. Next month — Like Water for Chocolate! 🙂
