I’m going to preface this by saying that I’m not big on celebrating Valentines day. In fact, I’m not really the romantic type of gal. My husband is far more romantic and sentimental than I am.
This couldn’t be more evident than on our wedding day when he poured his heart out with his personal wedding vows. He had everyone crying… even our officiant. Then it was my turn. My vows came out like a muffled contract (being that I’m quite the corporate and semi-rigid type) but I was so taken with emotion from his vows, I don’t think anything I said was audible. Even worse, when I was done mumbling between tears after my personal vows, I just handed him his wedding band since I couldn’t even compose myself to slip it on his finger! Horrible, I know…
So back to Valentine’s Day, I assumed that my husband would be working so I didn’t have any fancy romantic plans in store for the weekend. It wasn’t until the other night, my husband asks me what our Valentine’s day plans are. It appears that he went ahead and requested that day off from work so he could spend some quality time with me. *blush*
And if that wasn’t enough, when I got home tonight, he surprised me with something wonderful….
I guess I better think of something special to treat this loving and generous husband of mine. Maybe something made with my new food processor? Hope you have some quality time with loved ones this weekend!
Oh, how awesome! What a great guy!
How sweet! What a terrific gift – I’m sure you’ll be spending some quality time with it this weekend!
And your husband, too!

Aww what a great story and such a thoughtful gift! Happy V-Day to your and your hubby!
We don’t do Valentines either however Rob’s working away from home a lot now and it turns our that Valentines day is the only day we’ll have for some time together this week so I’m sure we’ll do some nice things but not cos it’s Valentines anyways! lol
Enjoy your new kitchen aid!
I am liking that processor!
Aww, how sweet! I’m totally with you on not celebrating valentine’s day, but when your hubby does something so sweet, how can you not?
That is so sweet of your husband! I’m sure you will come up with a great VDay plan-you are so creative! Have a very happy Valentine’s Day. p.s. I’m not that in to VDay either…
Way to go, Louis! Happy Valentine’s Day, Joelen (and I’m not really into it, either)!
What a wonderful surprise! I have the exact same food processor, and I love it.
That’s really sweet! Can’t wait to see all the yummy things you make with it.
Aww how sweet! He did good 🙂
Awe! That is so sweet. What a great gift. I know you will come up with an amazing way spending the day with him. Even if it ends up being chill, I am sure he will enjoy spending the day together. I also wanted to say that I love your story about your wedding vows. So funny to learn a little about your personalities. Have a Happy Valentines Day!
That’s such a cute story! ANd what a nice gift too – he did very well!
Care to send a bowl my way?
That’s so cute!
What a sweet husband! I have no doubt you will quickly find something great to make with your new food processor!
What a sweet and thoughtful husband! I know that you’ll have something special for him. My sweetie and I are going to have dinner at home as we do every Valentine’s Day – I make whatever he requests (it’s usually either a steak dinner or his favorite pasta dish, penne a la vodka) and he brings me a small box of my favorite truffles (which we share). Simple, no fuss, and wonderful.
That story was so cute!
Your hubby sounds like a great guy!
What a GREAT gift!!!
I think he heard you vows just fine!
