Foodie Freebie Friday: Cooking & Food Mag Subscription!

Happy Monday to you all! After unpacking my collection of magazine subscriptions, I had the daunting task of ensuring all the subscriptions have my updated address (even though an address change has been submitted to the USPS). I have a handful of subscriptions which are all cooking related: Cook’s Illustrated, Cooking Light, Taste of Home, Today’s Diet & Nutrition, Clean Eating, Saveur, Food Magazine… and there are a few more I’d like to subscribe to! (It’s almost like an addiction…)

For this week’s Foodie Freebie Friday, I’m giving away a magazine subscription of your choice, compliments of Subscription.com. They have generously offered to provide one lucky reader a cooking & food magazine of their choice from over 30 different cooking & food subscriptions they offer!

They offer some magazines that aren’t often seen at your local supermarket including:

maz-917-75-100-1933528American Cake Decorating
The United States’ premier magazine featuring step-by-step decorating projects for cakes and other bakery items.

mbd-490-75-100-6044837Chocolatier Magazine
Which focuses on the world’s elegant desserts, their preparation, and presentation. It visits the top restaurants in the world and kitchens of prominent gourmands.

maz-1484-75-100-7246089mbd-709-75-100-9374670Beer & Brew Magazines
Perfect for those who like beer and learn about homebrewing.

mct-764-75-100-6323689Chili Pepper Magazine
Are you a “hot head”? If so, this mag is for you!

For more listings of other magazines you could choose from, check out this LINK! Now how do you go about getting in on some magazine action? Read on!

Some guidelines:
– Giveaway is only for those who live in the United States. My apologies to my international readers!
– You must have a valid email address so that you can be contacted if you win.

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment answering:
– Which of the magazine subscriptions HERE would you most like a subscription for and why? If you already have a magazine subscription reflected HERE, which one did you have and what did you like about it?

Deadline: Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 12 midnight CST.

One Winner will be randomly chosen by Random.Org’s Interger Generator based on the number of your comment and will be announced on Friday, April 10, 2009. Good luck!

Wow, it’s hard to choose just one. The cake decorating one really catches my eye, because I’d love to learn, but I haven’t quite managed the inspiration yet. On the other hand, I’ve been hearing really great things about Fine Cooking too.

Totally Chocolatier! My mom used to subscribe to it when I was a little kid and that is how I taught myself most of my desserting, and would love to get back into chocolatiering again. They always have the most beautiful food and I love that not everything is easy. And who doesn’t love chocolate??

I’d probably pick Cook’s Illustrated, becasue I still have some learning to do in the kitchen. But my close second choice would be Cooking Light. I’m always drawn to recipes I see posted from CL.

We subscribe to Vegetarian Times, and love the simplicity of the recipes; I would say 95% of the ingredients are readily found in any market, which is a definite plus! I’d love to subscribe to Clean Eating – we pick it up whenever we can find it, but it’d be so much better (and easier!) to not have to bother searching it out.

I would probably be nice to the hubby and choose either Chili or Brew. He loves spicy foods, and the couple of times I've picked up Chili for him and B&N he's enjoyed it. And he also just bought a bunch of home brew stuff off Craig's List, it's something he's wanted to try for a long time now, so Brew might be handy. I'd probably let him take his pick between the two.

Cooking Light for sure! I have a huge list of recipe links from their website and keep eying up the magazine in the store. I am trying to eat healthier and love the options they offer. I love that their recipes tend to be easy and quick and so far, I have yet to have one we didn’t like!

I have the subscription to Cooks Illustrated magazine. I selected the magazine since it provided recipes, methodology, the trial and error and product/ingredient reviews with the criteria used. I would love to get a subscription to Bon Appetit or Foodnetwork. Currently my mother in law gives me her back issues of Bon Appetit.

My husband bought me a subscription to Everyday Rachel Ray for the holidays after seeing me speed read it in the grocery aisle for months! I love getting it monthly!

If I were to get another one, I would love to have Vegetarian Times. We cook only vegetarian in our house, and I would love to ry new things. The downside to cookbooks and magazines is so many of the recipes I have to figure out how to adapt before I can make them. I would love a mag where I could cook every dish!

I have always wanted to subscribed to Cook’s Illustrated because it offers not only wonderful, classic recipes but is also an excellent reference for tools, techniques and ingredients. I have plenty of cookbooks, other magazines and the web for recipes – this magazine would provide me with the nitty-gritty of cooking information!

Wow! What a difficult decision! I LOVE cooking magazines & enjoy going through them to find new ideas! I really enjoy the Taste of Home magazine because they have such wide selection of recipes to choose from. I enjoy trying new & different things as well as new twists on "traditional stand-by" recipes.

I would love for a subscription to Food and Wine magazine — my subscription was up about a month or two ago, and I just haven’t gotten around to renewing — but it has great articles, wonderful pictures and for a girl who loves wine just as much as a good dinner, it’s perfect! ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm interested in Clean Eating magazine. I've had subscriptions to Food & Wine, Gourmet and Saveur in the past but lately I just pick up an issue when it interests me instead of subscribing. Food & Wine has been my favorite. There are always recipes in it I want to try.

It would be a toss up between Brew and American Cake Decorating! Odd combo but my husband and his dad are homebrewers and I’ve started to pay more attention to when they are brewing and am finding i enjoy it. Then I’m in love with cake decorating since my classes–I’d love to have a mag that gives me more inspiration!

There are about 5 that I would love, but my first pick would have to be Cook’s Illustrated. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about the magazine and books from the girls on the WC Nest board. I think it would be a great addition to my magazines. I also like it b/c it is almost like a little cookbook. I usually hold onto a lot of my cooking magazines (which I should probably clean out) and I wouldn’t feel so silly holding onto the Cook’s Illustrated since it is more than just a magazine.
