I'm not sure about you, but whenever the work week starts up again, one thing that comes to mind is packing up lunches. My husband prefers to pack a lunch rather than eating out so I have the lovely task of getting something put together and sending him along with it. "Brown bagging" lunches has probably been a popular way to have lunch, considering how everyone I know is making efforts to be more budget minded these days. Well, I've got a great giveaway to help fellow brown baggers to effectively bring along their lunch in style...

BUILT transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. Our design team, headed by two of the founders, starts with everyday objects such as bottle totes, lunch bags, and laptop sleeves—then strips away the unnecessary and the expected. Drawing inspiration from the city that never sleeps - and the locals and visitors that inhabit our Soho neighborhood - we apply color and pattern liberally to everything we produce. Our solid roots in the tradition of American industrial design guide us in the belief that form is as important as function, and color is the glue that binds them together. The results from this unusual foundation are original and stylish products that meet the demands of life in perpetual motion.-- BUILT
One lucky winner this week will have their choice of one of these great lunch totes from Built:
It’s great for road trips, stakeouts, or any time you’re on the run and need provisions to keep you going. And unlike those brown bags, you’ll want to use this tote over and over again.

I always bring my lunch, so I often have leftovers, but lately I've been making egg salad and tuna salad sandwiches now that it's getting a little warmer.
ReplyDeleteI feel like a kid admitting this, but my regular lunch consists of a peanut butter and jelly on honey oat bread with fruit and pita chips as sides.
ReplyDeleteLunches almost always consist of leftovers. My favorites are peanut noodles and Vietnamese spring rolls. Here's the spring roll recipes in case anyone wants to try it:

Either a turkey sandwich or a lean cuisine...I'm pretty boring!
ReplyDeleteMy lunch is usually leftovers from the night before -- most often a combination of greens, beans, and veggies!
ReplyDeleteI also love cottage cheese and apples with granola as lunch
I usually bring greens with various toppings (olive/feta mix from the olive bar, tomatoes, parmesan shavings), protein (hummus, seafood) and either make that into a salad or wrap, with fruit.
ReplyDeleteMy lunch varies between soup, sandwich and random leftovers. But I do bring my lunch 99% of the time so this would be great!
ReplyDeleteIf I had my way, I would have sushi every day for lunch.
ReplyDeleteI usually will have left overs or a soup and salad.
I'm all over the place. I love change, and wouldn't be able to stand eating the same thing every day. However, the one thing that remains consistent with my lunch is yogurt! Whether it's greek yogurt or regular, I LOVE it! I eat it EVERY single weekday!
ReplyDeleteI bring my lunch to work every day. Its usually either leftovers from dinner, a large veggie salad, or a sandwich. I usually have a fruit and sugar-free jello as sides, and then I also pack a snack bar (like Kashi or Fiber One) for later in the afternoon before I go workout.
ReplyDeleteMy lunch is either leftovers or something simple with what's on hand. Leftovers rock because it's just heat and eat.
ReplyDeleteLunch is typically lunchovers. If not my default lunch is Subway or canned soup! I love these lunchpails, they look so cute!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of those lunch bags, very cute!
ReplyDeleteTurkey, cheese and veggie wraps or sandwiches, fruit, a yogurt (or fat free pudding cup), raw veggies with low fat dip and a granola bar seem to be the things mostly found in brown bags at my house!
cereal when I'm crunched for time...:)-monica

Usually leftovers or soup from a nearby deli. Now that it's getting warmer (and I'm trying to save $$) I'll probably bring sandwiches and make a bigger effort to have leftovers.
ReplyDeleteI always cook enough so that we can both take leftovers for lunches. This saves us so much money!
ReplyDeleteI tend to graze all day, so I don't usually eat a lunch per se. But I do snack on celery and carrot sticks, pretzels, and grapes throughout the day!
ReplyDeletei'm usually eating leftovers or a tuscan salad with grilled chicken (spring mix lettuce, artichokes, sundried tomatoes, gorgonzola, kalamata olives with balsamic vinegairette). great giveaway Joelen!!
ReplyDeleteUsually lettuce wraps with cold cuts and cheese..trying to keep it low carb!
ReplyDeleteI usually have leftovers from dinner the night before. My hubz makes great sandwiches so I'll occasionally request one, but I always seem to eat my sandwich before lunchtime and then end up going out for lunch in addition to that!
ReplyDeleteIt varies for me, this week and last week I've been having chocolate special k cereal and grapes!
ReplyDeleteLunch is almost always a sandwich, usually pb&j or turkey. Sometimes I have leftovers though, if there's enough.
ReplyDeleteNormally leftovers, although sometimes a sandwich of some sort.
ReplyDeleteJoelen--I absolutely love those lunch bags, I hope I win one. I have been wanting a new one!! My husband and I always pack our lunches, too, prob 99% of the time. Usually, I pack leftovers, but my husband likes to bring cold-cut sandwiches with a bag of chips, since he doesn't have to warm them up in the microwave. I don't mind walking to the microwave and wait a little, it's a little break for me and I get to chat with other co-workers :) ~ Yudith
ReplyDeleteMy lunch is usually leftovers or a sandwich, soup or salad from my favorite deli.
ReplyDeleteI try really hard to not eat the same thing everyday or I get bored. My quick go-to's are leftovers, pita with cheese, hummus and vegetables, soup or a sandwich.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a Lean Cuisine every single day for lunch until I got burned out...now I have leftovers from dinner for lunch the next day...if I don't have any leftovers, then I make a sandwich or salad or soup.
ReplyDeleteI bring my lunch and vary between a frozen meal (usually Lean Cuisine) and leftovers. I love to bring soup in the winter and salads in the summer.
ReplyDeleteUsually I eat leftovers for lunch, so a soup, or a easily re-heatable veggie/rice dish, or sometimes days like today chips & hummus!
ReplyDeleteI always bring my lunch too, and my old lunch bag died, so it would be great to win this cool tote! DH helps me pack a sandwich (usually on a whole wheat wrap), some chips, a fruit cup or 100 calorie pudding pack and a small piece of Dove dark chocolate.

ReplyDeleteIt depends. Some days I have leftovers, others I have a frozen meal (for when I don't have leftovers), sometimes a sandwich, and sometimes, when the hormones strike, I go to Braum's for a burger, fries, and a cherry limeade! I'm not one of those people that can eat the same thing every day and be okay with it.
ReplyDeleteCold cereal - that's what I usually have for lunch. Boring, I know, but it's fast and healthy!
ReplyDeleteFor the past few weeks, my lunch has been a spinach salad with walnuts and strawberries and a homemade everything bagel with cream cheese. I'm stuck in a rut, but it's a good one :)
ReplyDeleteI pack lunch almost every day. A typical lunch is a Lean Cuisine-type meal with yogurt, fruit, and maybe a salad.
ReplyDeleteWell I work second shift, so my lunch is actually dinner. I usually try to cook before I go in at 4pm. Depending on how lazy I am that can be anything from homemade calzones to spaghetti to some type of stir fry. But usually things that reheat well. We have a toaster oven and microwave at work, so it isn't to bad.
ReplyDeleteSome combo of veggies (steamed in the fall/winter, raw in the spring/summer with hummus) pita bread, yogurt, and some sort of fruit. One of those bags would be perfect for me!
