For the chocolate, I used some chocolate melts I picked up from my recent Wilton Tent Sale shopping spree. These microwaveable bags just needed to have a corner snipped off so it could melt in the microwave. Once the chocolate melted, the fun part begins... dipping! No need for forks or spoons or crazy utensils to dip either. Just grab the strawberry hull, dip the strawberry into the bag of melted chocolate and allow them to harden on a piece of parchment.
If you don't have Wilton candy melts handy, you can also use packaged almond bark or chocolate chips. The almond bark doesn't require anything else to get the smooth consistency needed for dipping, however you may need to add a tablespoon of butter to chocolate chips to get it just right. Either way you go, your best bet is to place the almond bark or chocolate chips in a double boiler (or in a large heat proof bowl over a small sauce pan of simmering water) and allow them to melt gently.
My absolute favorite!
ReplyDeleteThese look wonderful, Joelen! If you have a little extra of each chocolate, you could drizzle the milk chocolate ones with a little white chocolate and vice-versa. I could bite into one of those right now!
