Green City Market Annual Chef’s BBQ 2009

Today was an amazing evening full of wonderful food. Many folks think Chicago’s famous Taste of Chicago is a culinary event not to miss, but I respectfully disagree. If there’s a culinary event not to miss in Chicago, it’s the Annual Green City Market Chef’s BBQ. At this delicious event, chefs from many well-known restaurants come together to prepare some amazing dishes. Although named as a bbq, you won’t find too many ribs and traditional bbq fare. Instead, you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the creativity of how these chefs transform bbq dishes into high end cuisine with such sophistication.

Every year more chefs join the BBQ to show off the best of Chicago’s culinary talent. This year more than 65 chefs came out to share their creations using various Green City Market vendors of local and sustainable products. In addition to food, locally made beer, wine, and beverages were represented. Here are some pictures of the event… and I highly encourage you to attend the bbq next year. It only gets better and better, as it should. This is truly the Taste of Chicago locals have come to know and love.

What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
