Welcome back from the (holiday) weekend! It was a fun and food filled weekend at our place with friends and family. I hosted four events including:

Sunday morning: In the Kitchen: Brunch Cooking Class
Sunday night: BBQ Inspired Dinner
Monday brunch: Lazy Brunch for Guests
Monday night: Mediterranean Inspired Dinner

Stay tuned to the recipes which I’ll be posting here in the coming days!

This week, I’m looking forward to the weekend where I am planning a dinner highlighting Ina Garten. She’s probably one of the very few celebrities I watch on Food Network. Her recipes have yet to fail me and I love how elegant and simple her recipes are. I’m sure I’m not the only one who admires her. I have yet to build my Ina Garten cookbook selection since she has so many great cookbooks I’d like to have for myself. So this week for my foodie freebie, I’m giving a lucky reader one of Ina’s cookbooks of their choice! Ina Garten Cookbooks include:

The Barefoot Contessa

With a lactose intolerant husband and both of us watching what we eat, this may never happen. But, it looks so amazingly indulgent!

What timing! I just got a Thank Younote from my Aunt Ann who adores Ina's lemon cakes which she called, "the best cake in the whole world!" I make it for her birthday every year. She turned 75 in August. The recipe uses 8 lemons (with zest), a labor of love, but worth it! It makes 2 pound cakes so we share one for her birthday and I give her the 2nd to keep for herself to enjoy all week. She LOVES this!

This fall, I'm definitely going to try her chicken with 40 cloves of garlic – my husband and I both love garlic and long-simmered dishes in cold weather, so I'm really looking forward to cooler temperatures for this.

I haven't tried one yet that I didn't like, so choosing a favorite would be hard, but I do love her outrageous brownies!

My favorite of Ina's recipes is her Blue Cheese Soufflรฉ.
It is simple eough for a week night supper and elegant enough for a dinner party.
This soufflรฉ came out just perfect evertytime that I made it.
    Merci beaucoup, Ina…!

I only own "Barefoot in Paris" and would love to own her first book…

I love her tomato basil soup. It's the best I've ever had. I'd also like to try several of the cakes and tarts.

It's so hard to choose just one favorite Ina Garten recipe! I think Ina's cooking/entertaining style and recipes are fantastic! If I had to choose, I would choose her macaroni and cheese – so delicious!! Her coconut cake is a CLOSE second.

My favorite cook book is her first and my favorite recipe comes from that book.

It is her Egg Nog recipe which I use to drink but
also to make French Toast. All I can say is yum!
