Peppermint Bark

With the pumpkin spice season over, it’s time to move onto peppermint season! The holidays wouldn’t be complete without peppermint in some way, shape or form. That said, a classic treat that is perfect for gift giving is Peppermint Bark.

I’ve seen some expensive peppermint bark packaged up for the holidays. You really don’t need to spend that much for something so easy to make at home with your personal touch. Read on to find out how…

Peppermint Bark

PRINTABLE RECIPE

Serves 16-18

Prep Time: 10 min

Cook Time: 5 min

 

Ingredients

1 package (16 ounce) white chocolate almond bark

1 package (16 ounce) chocolate almond bark

1 teaspoon peppermint extract, divided

⅓  cup candy canes, crushed

 

Instructions

Line baking sheet with parchment paper, leave 2-3 inches extra to easily remove. 

Add chocolate almond bark to medium size microwave safe bowl. Heat for 1 minute, stir; Continue heating for 10-20 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating. Stop heating just before all chocolate is melted; Stir until completely melted. Add ½ teaspoon peppermint extract and stir until well combined. 

Spread melted chocolate evenly onto prepared baking sheet. 

Repeat steps for melting chocolate with white almond bark. Add ½ teaspoon peppermint extract and stir until well combined. Spread melted white chocolate evenly on top of chocolate layer. Immediately add crushed candy canes.

Break into pieces; Store in airtight container.
